Local space heaters
Local space heaters (LSHs) are heating products that heat the room in which they are installed. They comprise a very diverse product group whose products are mainly classified according to the energy source they use. LSHs can be powered with solid fuel (fossil or biomass), gas, liquid fuel or electricity.
These Regulations establishes ecodesign and energy labelling requirements for the placing on the market and putting into service of domestic local space heaters.
Ecodesign
Commission Regulation (EU) 2015/1188 of 28 April 2015 implementing Directive 2009/125/EC of the European Parliament and of the Council with regard to ecodesign requirements for local space heaters (Text with EEA relevance).
Commission Regulation (EU) 2024/1103 of 18 April 2024 implementing Directive 2009/125/EC of the European Parliament and of the Council as regards ecodesign requirements for local space heaters and separate related controls and repealing Commission Regulation (EU) 2015/1188 – It shall apply from 1 July 2025. However, Article 6 shall apply from 9 May 2024.
